Minimal Data Storage

You can use the tools without an account. Short-link records and temporary public YouTube metadata caches support the tools. If you contact us, we process the name, email and message you choose to submit so we can handle your request.

Optional Google Analytics

Google Analytics is our only optional usage-tracking service. It loads only after you choose Accept analytics. Rejecting, closing the notice or continuing to browse does not enable it. You can use every tool without analytics.

Your Acceptance

Use of the tools is subject to these terms. Optional analytics requires a separate choice and is not a condition of using the website. Browsing, scrolling and closing the analytics notice are not consent to tracking.

DPDP notice: your analytics choice

This notice explains how YTopener handles optional analytics and your choices under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, where applicable.

  • Purpose: With your permission, Google Analytics measures page visits and tool usage to help us understand and improve the website. We do not enable advertising personalisation.
  • Data: Analytics may process page/event information, browser and device details, approximate location and cookie-based identifiers. This is not the same as fully anonymous data. We do not send contact-form names, email addresses or message contents to analytics. Optional usage events also measure tool submissions, successful or failed results, broad timing/error categories, copy and download outcomes, saved-report opens, report controls and navigation. With your permission, events can include the public video/playlist title and channel display name returned by YouTube or the tool's verified public metadata. We redact email addresses, web links and phone-like numbers from these labels. They describe content used in a tool, not the identity of the visitor. We do not include pasted links, typed keyword searches, clipboard text, generated content or downloaded filenames in these events.
  • Your choice: Accept or reject in the privacy popup. Until you accept, the Google Analytics script is not loaded. If you are under 18, please keep optional analytics disabled.
  • Change or withdraw: Use Analytics settings in any footer or below. Rejecting stops future analytics here and clears accessible first-party analytics cookies in this browser. It does not undo processing that has already occurred.
  • Preference storage: Your choice, notice version and choice time are kept in this browser for up to six months. Clearing browser storage or using another browser/device may show the notice again.
  • Privacy requests: Use our contact form to ask about access, correction or erasure of your data, withdraw a choice you cannot change here, or raise a privacy grievance. Requests are handled under applicable law. Please do not include passwords or sensitive account information.

Data Processing & Storage Policy

ytOpener.App is built to function without mandatory user accounts, registrations, or profile tracking. Here is our transparent data policy:

  • Short-Link Records: When an app-opener link is generated, the YouTube video ID, short identifier, creation timestamp, and aggregate visit counter are saved in local server storage to ensure permanent redirect functionality.
  • Ephemeral API Caches: Public channel metadata and subscriber statistics may be cached temporarily on the server to prevent rate limits and ensure fast page loads. Channel history is retained for seven days; report freshness remains 24 hours. This browser also keeps a functional seven-day history index so recent channels can remain visible if report snapshots expire. Clearing browser storage removes that local history. Public video titles used for optional analytics can be cached for seven days through YouTube's public oEmbed endpoint, without using YouTube Data API quota.
  • No Private Content Access: Our tools use publicly available video and channel information. We never request access to private accounts, channels, or protected user data.
  • Optional Analytics: Google Analytics runs only after acceptance, as explained in the DPDP notice above. Contact details are not sent as analytics events.

How Our Tools Work

Our tools (including the Tag Extractor, Channel Analyzer, Dislike Viewer, and others) are designed to help creators analyze and optimize their content by fetching publicly available metadata from YouTube.

  • Public Metadata Only: We access only information that is publicly viewable on YouTube (such as view counts, tags, descriptions, and channel statistics). We do not hack, bypass, or access private videos or restricted content.
  • No Unauthorized Downloading: Our tools specifically do NOT allow the downloading of copyrighted video or audio content from YouTube. We respect YouTube's Terms of Service regarding content access.
  • Direct Processing: When you enter a URL, our server fetches the necessary metadata, processes it to give you the result (e.g., extracting tags or calculating earnings), and sends it back to you.
  • Temporary Processing: Results are displayed in your browser. Some public metadata may remain in temporary server caches as described above; closing the page does not necessarily remove a server cache entry.

Tool Usage Terms

When using our YouTube tools, you agree to the following terms:

  • Legitimate Use: You many only use our tools for their intended purpose of analytics, optimization, and content management.
  • No Copyright Infringement: You agree NOT to use our tools to infringe on the copyrights of others. Our tools must not be used to download, reproduce, or distribute copyrighted material without explicit permission from the rights holder.
  • Your Own Content: You may freely use our tools on videos, thumbnails, and content that you own or have permission to use.
  • User Responsibility: You carry full responsibility for checking the legitimacy of your use of our tools and the content you access. We are not liable for any misuse of our tools for illegal activities.
  • Local Laws: The legitimacy of using these services may vary by country. You agree to abide by all applicable local, state, national, and international laws.
  • No Automated Access: You agree not to use any automated means, including robots, crawlers, or data mining tools, to access or use our services excessively.

YouTube & Copyright Disclaimer

ytOpener.App respects intellectual property rights and strictly adheres to YouTube's policies.

  • YouTube Terms: Our tools interact with YouTube content, and your use is also subject to YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy. By using our services, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms.
  • No Unauthorized Downloads: We do not provide tools to download YouTube videos or audio tracks in violation of YouTube's Terms of Service (specifically regarding downloading content without a "Download" link displayed by YouTube).
  • DMCA Compliance: We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe any tool on our site facilitates copyright infringement, please contact us immediately.
  • YouTube API Services: Some of our tools use YouTube API Services. By using these tools, you are also agreeing to be bound by the YouTube API Services Terms of Service.

Cookies & Local Storage

We use local storage on your device strictly for functional purposes to improve your experience:

  • Analytics Choice: To remember your acceptance or rejection for up to six months. This preference is stored even when you reject analytics and is not a tracking ID.
  • Theme Preference: To remember if you prefer Light or Dark mode.
  • Recent Inputs: Some tools save recent inputs locally to avoid retyping them. Submitting an input to a tool may send it to the server or relevant service to produce the result.

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics can set first-party cookies such as _ga to recognise repeat visits. Rejecting keeps this optional tracking disabled. Withdrawing consent disables future analytics and removes analytics cookies accessible to this website in your current browser.

Third-Party Services

We use a few trusted third-party services to keep our site running smoothly:

  • Google Analytics: Optional usage measurement, enabled only after you accept. Google processes analytics information under its privacy policy. See the DPDP notice above for data categories, purpose and withdrawal options.
  • FormSubmit: When you submit our contact form, your name, email address, subject and message are sent through FormSubmit so we can receive and respond to your request. This is separate from optional analytics consent. Avoid including sensitive personal information in your message.
  • YouTube: As our tools interact with YouTube content, your requests are subject to YouTube's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  • Return YouTube Dislike API: Our Dislike Viewer tool uses the Return YouTube Dislike API to display estimated dislike counts.
  • Supadata (optional caption fallback): When direct YouTube captions cannot be loaded and this service is enabled, our server sends the public video link and any selected caption language to Supadata to retrieve existing captions. Returned caption text is cached on our server and reused for up to seven days. Expired entries are removed when the cache is next updated. This fallback does not request AI-generated transcripts. See Supadata's privacy policy.
  • Hosting: Our website is hosted on secure cloud infrastructure that logs standard access data (like IP addresses) for security and performance monitoring, but this is not linked to your personal identity.

Our services may include hyperlinks to YouTube and other external websites or resources. We have no control over such websites and are not responsible for the availability or content of these external sites. We do not endorse and are not responsible or liable for any content, advertising, products, or other materials on or available from such sites.

Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL ytOpener.App, ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER RESULTING FROM:

  • Any content, including any mistakes or inaccuracies therein
  • Personal injury or property damage resulting from your use of our website
  • Any unauthorized access to our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
  • Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from our website
  • Any bugs, viruses, or similar issues transmitted through our website by third parties
  • Any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage incurred as a result of your use of any content

THE FOREGOING LIMITATION OF LIABILITY SHALL APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW IN THE APPLICABLE JURISDICTION.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold ytOpener.App harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of:

  • Content you access, download, or use through our services
  • Your use of our services
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party

Changes to Terms

ytOpener.App is a free service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our services at any time. We may update these Terms of Use and Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
